Salsa Casseroll

Here are a few shots of Chris's new Salsa Casseroll.

Chris will be using this bike for all kinds of riding including some gravel paths. The Casseroll ended up being the perfect choice for him due to its do-all geometry and good tire clearance.

The Casseroll comes with a front rack.

We went with a Shimano gearing for this build.

Shimano 105 parts in Silver. We spec'd a Dura-Ace 7801 chain for smooth shifting and Ultegra hubs with Mavic A719 rims for durability.

Brooks B17 saddle and Velo Orange Seatpost.

Good looking Salsa head tube badge.

The complete package.

New Mavic Wheels

More new products! We recently received some new 2011 Mavic wheels.

Mavic has made some changes to a few of their key wheels. Here at Willy Bikes we really like Mavic wheels. Through the years they have proven to be durable, high quality and offer fantastic ride quality.

Mavic Ksyrium SR Wheelset.

Mavic always does a great job with their brake tracks which results in a wheel that has great braking performance.

Carbon front hub shell on the SR wheelset.

One of the big features of the Ksyrium wheelset is the use of reinforced Carbon Spokes on the non-driveside in the rear wheel. The rest of the spokes are Mavic's Zicral spokes. The Carbon spokes help bring the wheelset weight down to 1445 grams.

Over the past few years the Mavic Ksyrium Elite has been a very popular wheel. And for good reasoning, they are awesome wheels! For 2011 Mavic has up-dated the Elite, making it stronger and lighter!

New for 2011 are machined rims.

Straight-pull Stainless spokes.

Mavic's hubs are very nice and durable.

2011 Mavic Ksyrium Equipe Wheelset, in white!

Nice machined rims.

Even on the Equipe Mavic uses a high quality hub.

We've got a great selection of Mavic, as well as, Hed, Shimano, Bontrager (East Only) and Easton wheels, stop in and check them out!

Sam's New Independent Fabrication Ti 29er

We just received this awesome Indy Fab (IF) Ti 29er. IF does some amazing work and this is a great example.
All of the work IF does is totally custom. All IF bikes are built for the customer, that means fit is perfect as well as the details.

Enough talk how about some pictures...

Pretty amazing how just a frame can look this awesome!

The first pieces installed.

We decided on sliding drop-outs on this frame for easy brake adjustments and chain tensioning.

Perfect welds.

Very clean BB area.

More clean lines.

On a frame like this you have to spec the best parts! Rock Shox Reba XX fork with remote lockout and Chris King Headset.

And possibly the best part of buying an IF, the personalization. Every step in the process of buying an IF is personal, starting with a personal fit, ending with a frame that is delivered to you with a card that has the signature of every person who helped build your bike.

Looking to get an IF of your own? Stop in or give us a call! 608-255-5292

New Shimano Stuff

I feel bad that we keep taking about new stuff here on our blog. But hey, we've been getting a lot of cool stuff in lately!

We just received a huge shipment of Shimano stuff this week. We're very excited that for 2011 Williamson Bicycle Works will be a Shimano Service Center which guarantees that we offer the highest level of service of any Shimano Dealer. What this also means is we have access to a lot of very cool components and accessories!

One Shimano product that we're really excited about is the new PRO bars and stems. Shimano has done a great job developing PRO parts and their bars ergonomics are fantastic.

Pro Vibe Bar and PLT stem.

PRO offers several different drops. This is their round drop bar. One of our favorites!

This is PRO's Compact shape. All of PRO's bars offer a really nice lever/bar transition area.

We also recieved a ton of new shoes from Shimano. We are probably the most impressed by their new top of the line road shoe, the R315

We can't wait to test the 315's out!

We also got a bunch of other Shimano shoes, both road and mtb. We are excited that for 2011 Shimano will be offering their O87 series of shoes, road and mtb, in wide sizes. This will allow a lot more riders to fit in Shimano shoes well.

If you are looking for a new pair of cycling shoes stop by our store and try on a pair of Shimano's!

Is it cross season yet?

The 2011/12 cross season here in Wisconsin is going to be huge with the Nationals Championships here in Madison and the USGP making a stop here, as well as the new UCI race in Chicago. Williamson Bicycle Works is all over it, we're not only stocking more cross bikes then we ever have before, we'll also have representation from the shop at just about every event within a 300 mile radius!

We've already started to receive new cross bikes. This beauty came in the other day:

2011 Cannondale SuperX

Big carbon tubes make for a super stiff front-end.

Lots of time has went into the design of the SuperX

Sram Rival parts are a great choice for cross. Cannondale has done a great job selecting the correct gearing too, 36-46t chainrings up front, 11-26 cassette in the back.

Cool great details on the FSA SL-K brakes.

The view the competition will get...

Stay tuned for more cross goodies throughout the spring and summer!

GT Zaskar Expert 29er

We have been really impressed by some of the new 2011 GT bikes that we have been receiving over the last few months. The latest bike from GT that just showed up this week is the Zaskar Expert 29er. This bike is really impressive for a number or reasons...

The whole package has a nice look.

Matt black with gloss black logos, always a good choice!

Frame design incorporates GT's signature Triple Triangle Design.

GT spec'd a Rock Shox Reba fork. This is a great fork that we've had a lot of good luck with.

Not the most common spec, but very solid, GT uses Formula RX disc brakes of the Zaskar Expert. Also pictured, SLX Dyna-Sys 10 speed shifters, probably the best shifters for the money right now.

10 speed drive-train, Shimano SLX rear derailleur, cassette and chain. Sram S1400 double crankset and X9 front derailleur. Very well thought out specs that work exceptionally well.

Best part of the GT Zaskar Expert 29er? The $1799.99 price tag!

Stop in today to check out the Zaskar Expert or any of the other numerous 29ers we have in stock. Trails are going to be open before we know it, or at least that is what we keep telling out selves!
